How to Get Recruited as an IBPS PO?

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS department conducts a Common Written Exam every year for jobs in Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions. These are about 8822 posts. IBPS Recruits Probationary Officer (PO) & Management Trainee (MT) through clearing an exam and then interview. Many candidates apply for IBPS PO Exam every year as it is also a great chance for all graduate students.

IBPS PO Important Dates 2017

IBPS PO Exam Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criterion is as follows:

  • The candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Candidates must lie in the age group of 20 to 30 years only. However, the upper age limit relaxation will be provided to reserved categories students only.

IBPS 2017 Cutoff Marks:

The candidates need to score minimum marks in each stage and then only they will get shortlisted for the interview. This depends on the number of posts available and the cutoffs marks for the exam. The candidates have to score minimum marks in each paper for getting selected in the participating banks. The minimum cut off marks is as follow:

For General category: 24 marks

For Reserved category: 21 marks

IBPS PO 2017 Admit Card

IBPS will issue three admit cards for PO exam; the first one is for the preliminary exam, second for the main exam and third for the interview. It will not send the admit card by post, so the candidates need to download the admit card online. Admit cards will be available on the IBPS website.

The steps to download the IBPS admit card Exam are as follows:

  • Firstly you need to visit the official site of  i.e. www.ibps.in
  • Now select the option “CWE PO”.
  • Then click on the option “Download call letter”.
  • In next window, you have to enter your Registration Number and D.O.B
  • Submit it and you will find your Admit card
  • Then take the print out of it.

IBPS Recruitment Exam Pattern

After submitting the online application form of IBPS PO exam all candidates are required to check the paper pattern of the Common written exam (CWE). This will help them to easily understand the level of exam and paper. There are three stages viz.

Stage 1:

IBPS PO Pre Paper is an Objective type paper which has 100 Questions. All the questions are of one mark only. The time duration of the paper is 01 hour and negative marking process is applicable with the effect of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

Stage 2:

IBPS PO Main paper is divided into 5 Sections and they are Reasoning subject, English Language section, Quantitative Aptitude, GK, Computer Knowledge. All these sections have different marks. Check the below-given table:

Stage 3:

IBPS PO Recruitment Selection Process

Stage 3 consists of following two points:

> Interview: After passing the examination, the candidates who get shortlisted for CWE PO are called for the interview. There are 100 marks for the interview and the candidates need to score more than 40% marks to qualify the interview.

> Allotment: After getting selected in IBPS interview round the shortlisted candidates will be provisionally allotted to any one of the organizations and this is done on the basis of merit-cum-preference.
