For any local Hong Kong business to take off with digital marketing, a few tools are essential. In many cases hiring an experienced SEO company or an SEO guru may be required for the SEO and internet marketing project’s implementation. The tools required include:
- Yoast SEO Plugin
- Google Search Console
- Google Ads
- Google Analytics
WordPress – It is the most commonly used website builder which is free. It used to be a platform for launching blogs quickly. But after many years of improvement, it has become a much more complete platform for multiple purposes including the development of a small business websites, an online shop, etc. Many free plugins are available that can be used to enhance the functionality of your HK small business website.
Yoast SEO Plugin – Once WordPress is installed, also set up a plugin for search engine optimization (SEO). There are a few options of WordPress SEO plugins. Yoast SEO is one of such SEO plugins. The plugin works perfect for both the Gutenberg and Classic editors in WordPress. It provides the granularity to edit each and every page’s title, meta description and other essential meta tags. The plugin offers both free and paid versions.
Google Search Console – This is an official tool provided by Google for webmasters. When your new small business website (for the local Hong Kong market) is launched, you may well submit the site through Google Search Console. This way, Google can pick up your website, put it into the Index, and get ready to rank your web pages in Google’s search engine results pages organically.
HootSuite – It is a social media management and posting solution. In your marketing plan, it will always include social media marketing operations. You should always have content created and be ready for publishing on different major social media platforms. Hootsuite lets you connect your major social media accounts (including Facebook, Twitter, and more) all in a single place, and allows you publish your content across different platform quickly.
Google Ads – You can use the Google keyword planner within the Google Ads platform to get keyword suggestions that are related to your HK company’s products/services. You can then quickly set up a keyword based campaign to allow a few of your ads showing up on top of Google’s search engine results pages (i.e. Within the top few ad spots, above all the organic search results). This way, when your target audience searches for your service/product, they will see your ads and may click to get on to your website.
Mailchimp – The Hong Kong audience who landed on your local small business websites may not have purchased any product or service on your site the first time. You may offer newsletters to them instead. After they have subscribed, you can let Mailchimp send some email campaign series to the subscribers. You never know any time later the audience may change their mind and purchase from you.
